How to Build an Ethereum Merge Countdown Bot
The excitment is building for the merge! đ€© Want to create some buzz with a countdown? This article will show you how to build a bot that posts how close we are to the main event on Discord, Twitter, and/or Telegram. No coding required!
Eth merge countdown to Discord
Letâs get started with the Discord version. Go to the Ethereum Merge Countdown to Discord bot recipe and click âUse This Recipeâ: https://boto.io/bots/39456/
If you donât already have a Boto.io account, youâll be prompted to create one.
Youâll see 3 building blocks for your bot. On the right is the Discord block. Click the âplusâ sign to connect the bot to your Discord Server.
Once thatâs connected, decide how often you want this countdown alert to come through:
Now just save your bot and turn it on!
Now youâll start seeing those updates in Discord đ
Eth merge countdown to Twitter
To send the countdown alerts to Twitter, the process is pretty much the same as with Discord, except you authorize the bot to connect to Twitter instead of (and easier than) Discord.
Start with this recipe: https://boto.io/bots/39457/
(Note that to use the Twitter block, youâll need a Boto Pro subscription, which includes a 7-day free trial: https://boto.io/pricing/)
Click the âplusâ sign on the Twitter block to connect to your Twitter account:
Set the time period, save the bot, and turn it on!
Eth merge countdown to Telegram
Building a countdown Telegram has the same structure.
Use this recipe: https://app.boto.io/r/39622
To connect to Telegram, follow the steps in this video:
Set timer, save, and turn on! đ„
